While its perfect geometry may not alter from one season to the next, the Capucines draws its ability to surprise and amaze from a wide selection of exotic leathers.

Like our fingerprints, each crocodilian hide has a unique pattern and natural characteristics, whether it is from the alligator, niloticus, or porosus species. For each bag, Louis Vuitton’s experts must pair up to five matching skins, a true savoir-faire requiring specialized training and years of experience. The finished products are then meticulously controlled for natural pattern placement and symmetry among a long list of stringent quality requirements

 a semi-rigid handle secured by jewel-like rings, – a nod to the Maison’s historic trunks – while the rounded flap recalls the petals of the iconic Monogram flower.

The added challenge for Louis Vuitton's artisans is to work these exotic leathers in a range of shades and finishes while preserving the Capucines’ trademark softness and suppleness.

Louis Vuitton now extends its tradition of offering personalization services to the exotic leather Capucines. Choose from a palette of matte and shiny leathers, metal hardware, and lining materials for an even more exclusive creation.

Crocodile skins in vibrant hues are either polished by hand with a natural agate stone or massaged until soft and matte for the ultimate example of exotic leather craftsmanship.

Our crocodilian leathers meet the highest environmental quality requirements and come from farms certified under the LVMH Crocodilians Standard. This standard is the world’s first crocodilian certification that covers the entire supply chain: conservation of the species, respect of animal welfare, working conditions for men and women at the farms; and finally, protection of the environment.

25 years after first establishing these conservation programs, two thirds of all crocodilian species are no longer threatened with extinction. Today, the three species used for Louis Vuitton’s products are no longer endangered in the countries where we source from.

📦 Return Eligibility

We accept returns on all unused items within 30 days of delivery. To qualify for a return:

  • The item must be in the same condition as received (unused, no new damage, tags attached)

  • The original packaging and any accessories (dust bags, straps, lock & key) must be included

  • Items marked as final sale are not eligible for return


🔁 Exchange Policy

We do not offer direct exchanges. If you'd like a different item, simply return the product and place a new order separately.


💸 How to Start a Return

  2. Our team will review and send you return instructions within 24–48 hours

  3. Once we receive and inspect your return, your refund will be processed to your original payment method within 5–7 business days


🚚 Shipping Costs & Refunds

  • If the return is due to a damaged, incorrect, or defective item, we cover all return costs

  • If returning for personal reasons (e.g., changed mind), shipping charges are non-refundable

  • Expedited shipping fees are not refunded
